Jeep Grand Cherokee
The Grand Cherokee has three 4×4 systems to tackle any level of adventure. The Quadra-Trac I is the standard 4×4 system that is always engaged for capable handling in all weather conditions and extra peace of mind.
The available Quadra-Trac II system has a two-speed low transfer case that uses information provided by sensors to determine tire slips and take corrective action. Finally, the Quadra-Drive II system is the most rugged, with a 2.71:1 low-range ratio and a rear electronic limited slip differential.
Jeep Wrangler
The Jeep Wrangler is at the forefront in off-roading adventuring, with front sway bar disconnect systems featured in the Wrangler Rubicon. Like the Grand Cherokee, three 4×4 systems are available. The Command-Trac is a part-time 4×4 system, delivering torque to all four wheels and carrying a 2.71:1 low-range ratio for rock crawling. The Selec-Trac is a full-time system that automatically switches between 2WD and 4WD depending on the terrain for maximum efficiency.
The king of 4WD is the Rock-Trac 4×4 system, which carries a 4:1 low gear ratio to let you crawl at a lower speed while increasing the torque to your wheels. It has part-time and full-time variants, with the full-time option adding a 4H AUTO Mode that automatically engages or disengages 4WD to ensure traction.
