Sharing genetics with the best American muscle cars, the 2025 Dodge Hornet boasts great dragster capabilities, which it combines with exceptional handling. The compact SUV is ready to cruise through Erie streets with seats for five and a whole lot of adrenaline.

Introducing the 2025 Dodge Hornet: Performance with a Sting

Turbocharged Engine

Driving enthusiasts will enjoy the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine and the 9-speed transmission it is mated to. The powerhouse cranks out 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, giving the compact utility vehicle an excellent power-to-weight ratio. To unlock the engine’s true capabilities, the Hornet features a Sport Mode button on the steering wheel, which dramatically boosts throttle response with a single push. With Sport Mode active, the Hornet GT sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds.

EPA estimates that the Hornet achieves a generous fuel economy of 21 mpg city and 29 mpg highway, but the best figures are available with the two plug-in hybrid trim levels. The Hornet R/T PHEV trim achieves a 0 to 60 mph time of just 5.6 seconds thanks to the PowerShot feature that adds an extra 30 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid packs a 15.5kWh battery that adds 32 miles of all-electric range, making it good for an impressive combined 77 MPGe.

Precision-Tuned Handling

While the Hornet has no trouble tearing up a drag strip, the compact SUV also possesses immaculate handling capabilities. The electric power-assist speed-sensing steering makes the wheel firmer and more responsive at high speeds, and the standard torque vectoring system instantaneously adjusts the amount of torque to make cornering easier. With Sport Mode active, the torque vectoring system becomes a virtual electronic limited-slip differential.

The Hornet has the braking power needed to bring its lightning acceleration to a quick halt. The Brembo four-piston front fixed calipers and intelligent Braking System technology can effortlessly slow down the SUV and get it to stop.

Athletic Styling

With the performance to back it up, the Hornet’s aggressive styling cues distinguish it from the rest of its class. The front fascia sports a muscle-car look with heat extractor vents carved into the hood and two dark grilles stretched between the illuminated daytime running lamps. The rest of the accents are matte black, with 17-inch aluminum wheels on the base model, 18-inch Graphite Grey wheels on the R/T trim level, and the Track package offering 20-inch Abyss wheels.

The interior is loaded with luxury, but stays in touch with its performance-oriented exterior styling. You can choose between black or red cloth/leather seats and black Alcantara seats with red accents. The red stitching accents, which add to its sporty look, are visible throughout the interior, including the doors and armrest.
