How do EV Charging Stations Work?
If you've never used an EV charging station before, don't worry! Using an EV charger is just as easy as visiting the gas pump, if not easier! The first step is to find out what kind of charging cable works with your car. The most commonly used cables used at public charging stations are Level II and Level III cables. Next, locate the charging station, and drive up to a free charger. You'll insert the cable into your car's charging port, commonly located on the side of the vehicle towards the front. Your car will then be able to send information to the charger about its current battery power, and how much energy it needs to charge. Your car will charge slowly at first, and then pick up the pace, reaching full speed at around 80%.
