The New Detroit Muscle
The heart of this beast is a 100.5 kWh high-voltage lithium-ion battery. When Dodge designed this battery, they had one thing in mind, and that was performance. To achieve that power, special "ingredients" were needed to make it happen. That is why the engineers at Dodge decided to use a nickel-cobalt aluminum battery structure. It not only provides a huge 550 kW initial surge of power but can sustain over 500 kW of that power through a 1/4 mile drag strip.
Adding To The Power
When everyone thinks of power, their first thought is the engine that provides it. But, in fairness, suspension is also a very big contributor to laying down that power, so Dodge engineers didn't skimp on this portion of the vehicle. Starting in the front, it contains multi-link suspension, it uses negative chamber induction and forged aluminum links, which are stronger than traditional counterparts, and this provides extra grippiness during the driving experience. Moving to the rear, there is an integral link suspension setup, which adds to enhanced steering feel and extra body control during those spirited drives.
Adjustable Regenerative Braking
Adding more smiles to your miles is as easy as placing your foot on the brake. When you apply the brake during driving, energy is captured and sent back to your batteries. You even can change the level of how much energy goes back into those batteries with a pair of paddle shifters on the steering wheel. It can adjust the rate from 0.1g, which is typically the industry standard for regeneration, or you can bump it up to 0.2g which gives you increased stopping power, all the way up to 0.3g which will give you maximum stopping power!
Styling
Dodge is paying homage to the roots of their muscle cars, and you'll notice that from the illuminated Fratzog badges both front and rear of the vehicle. Whether you are looking at the front or rear of the Daytona, it will be undeniable that it is a Dodge. The engineers have, however, created what is called the R-Wing aero passthrough (which is Patent Pending) on the front of the vehicle. This is a unique front opening at the front of the hood that minimizes drag and maximizes performance when traveling at top speeds.
