What Engine Options Come with the 2025 Ram 1500?
In the pursuit of fewer emissions and greater fuel efficiency, Ram has phased out the larger, gas-guzzling V8 engines. In 2025, the Ram 1500 lineup continues to be powered by the Pentastar 3.6L V6. Offering 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, the Pentastar engine has been standard equipment for the Ram 1500 lineup for thirteen model years now. But the real star of the show is the all-new Hurricane engine, optional for the Tradesman and Big Horn while standard for the Laramie and all following trims. This new engine is a game-changer, delivering a significant increase in power and torque, all while offering fewer emissions and better fuel economy. The Laramie and Rebel trims feature the standard output variant, which delivers 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque. This is a significant increase in power from the discontinued 5.7L V8's 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The Limited and all-new Tungsten trims both feature the high-output variant, which boosts the power output to 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. Like the previous generation of the Ram 1500, the 2025 model comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive as standard equipment. However, the optional 4x4 system is more common here in Pennsylvania.
New Features for the 2025 Ram 1500

However, the front fascia receives a noticeable facelift with an enlarged grille that is slightly leaned forward. With reshaped headlights and newly standard LED bulbs, the new front end gives the Ram 1500 a confident posture that borders heroic. Moving to the rear, the new Ram 1500 features reshaped taillights with newly standard LED bulbs for a more modern appearance. The cabin is also updated for the 2025 model year, adding more style, comfort and convenience. New color schemes are available for certain trim levels. For example, a new Diesel Gray interior color scheme is optional for the Big Horn, while a Sea Salt Gray/Bison Brown blend is optional for the Laramie trim. Standard upgrades have been made as well. The Rebel, for example, features new black leather-trimmed seats with suede inserts and red accent stitching to match the red accents found throughout the cabin. Meanwhile, the Limited trim gains a new open-pore Black Ebony wooden dashboard trim for an even more premium feel. Now standard for the Ram 1500 is an 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, replacing the previously standard 5-inch Uconnect 4 touchscreen. This can be replaced by a 12-inch touchscreen, which also comes standard with higher trim levels.
